Perhaps you’re not in a position to give a lot of money to your local church for the advancement of the Gospel. Maybe you will never have the opportunity to preach to hundreds or thousands of people about the goodness of God.
For most of us, the calling of God (Ephesians 5:1) to model the Gospel by our lives is more mundane than profound. Fortunately, Father God is a God of the mundane. He is particularly perceptive to the small and unexciting ways His children seek to bless and serve others (Luke 12:7).
Since the mid-nineties, Lucia and I have had the joy of donating blood at our local blood center. We get to do this every 56 days. It is a personal encouragement to know our blood is helping those in need.
It has been rare to go into our blood center and they have all the blood needed to serve the hurting in our community. Each day brings a new challenge for them to acquire enough blood to meet the demand.
Let me appeal to you to be on the Gospel prowl–regularly asking the Lord to give you insight and opportunity to live out the person and personality of Christ in your community.
If you pray for this kind of insight and opportunity to minister to others, you will have more ministry than you could imagine. Every person cannot give blood, but most people can.
